Department of Immuno-Hematology and Blood Transfusion provides clinical services to support patients in need of blood component therapy, therapeutic apheresis, and specialized laboratory diagnostics. We have the latest state-of-the-art Immunohematology Lab and offer MD Degree in Immuno-Hematology and Blood Transfusion.
The aim of our department is to provide high-quality patient care and hospital services, to pursue research that contributes to our knowledge and practice of transfusion medicine and related technologies, and to provide advanced training in transfusion medicine.
Our Blood Centre with Licence no. 1863-B is one of the largest blood centres in North India collecting approx. 26,000 units annually through outdoor blood donation camps and in-hospital donations.

Issue of blood/components after extensive cross-matching by Gel/Micro Plate Typing System (type and screen).
Recruitment of voluntary donors and maintaining a panel of eligible donors along with details of their blood groups, record of previous donations and their contact numbers/addresses.
Counseling and motivation of donors.
Educating and advising the clinicians and nurses about the transfusion procedures and latest developments in transfusion medicine.
Research activities regarding safe and better transfusion procedures.
Providing medical consults to physicians and surgeons.
